In Vinnytsia, a man was detained who wore a T-shirt with the inscription «USSR», hammer and sickle

On June 8, at a health resort in Khmelnik [west-central Ukraine], police officers detained a man dressed in a T-shirt with banned symbols: a sickle, a hammer, a star and the inscription «USSR.”

This is reported by the communication department of the State Institution of the National Police of the Vinnytsia region.

According to head of the Khmelnik police department Dmitry Rudenko, the offender was a 30-year-old resident of Zhmerinka. He came to a sanatorium to rest.

The man claims that he did not know about criminal responsibility for using the symbols of the totalitarian regime [sic].

Khmilnitsky police department launched criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 4361 (Production and distribution of communist-Nazi symbols and propaganda of communist and national-socialist (Nazi) totalitarian regimes). This offense is punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment.
